All About Me

            In an often mundane world of grey personalities, middle of the road safety, fear and insecurity based decision making, and over the top political correctness – I present to you something totally off the wall…..

I am quite an odd mix of traits….I have an IQ of 10% higher than most brain surgeons, yet spent 13 years of my adult life as an over the road truck driver – and loved every minute of it! I’m using AJAX to write some custom small business software that I think a lot of small businesses would find quite useful, as do I with my own. However, I don’t get to spend nearly as much time writing code and putting away pots of coffee as I would like because I’m a lumberjack and Home Improvement Contractor and my business keeps me quite busy.

If I’m inside, I’m spending 16 hours a day in front of the computer – if I’m lucky – while watching 16 hours of CNBC (except Kramer who is interesting but won’t stop screaming – and I cant think!). I absolutely love the stock market and have been doing an outstanding job of investing since I began doing so in December 2001. Of course, CNBC and the markets have nothing going on during the weekends…..which is perfectly fine because I’d rather be splitting wood for my wood stove (with an axe, not a hydraulic splitter), grilling, sitting by a fire, or screaming at a sporting event of some sort – preferably NFL or NCAA football games and NASCAR or NHRA events.

I am a  season ticket holder for the University of Buffalo Bulls Football, I have a trading account with OptionsXpress, the biggest chainsaw you’ve ever seen, and always a fresh copy of Red Hat’s Fedora Linux.  I live on 3 acres way up on a hill in the middle of nowhere….and I get by with an axe, a wood stove, and satellite TV and Internet.

A great day for me could consist of any or all of:

Standing in the student section swearing at the refs at a college football game, trading stocks, writing software, sitting by a fire, climbing trees with an axe fastened to my hip, reading a peaceful book, doing Yoga (hey, it’s amazing and no I’m not gay and shutup cuz I own chainsaws and axes), or plugging my ears and thrusting my face directly into the nitromethane fume stream coming straight out of the headers of a top fuel dragster from ten feet away as they ‘blurp’ the throttle and nearly blast my head off my shoulders.

I’m also really super nice to everyone I meet and try really hard to get along with everyone and be an enjoyable dude to be around while at the same time trying very hard to care as little as possible about what others think of me in all ways excluding my integrity, ambition, and courage and I try like crazy to avoid run-on sentences.

Lastly, I love putting on some tunes and singing at the top of my lungs while driving through the countryside…. even though I can’t sing to save my life….because life is a gift and we should enjoy what we’ve been given – every single moment of it if at all possible – or shame on us.
